Teacup Stories: How it all started
Trish: Ann and I met at a park one Saturday afternoon and were sharing a cup of tea. I was telling her about my recent High Tea called 'Teacup Stories'. The High Tea was designed to bring together a number of ladies in my local area. We frequently met on the beach but rarely had time to sit down and chat. Everyone brought their favourite teacup along and shared why it was so important to them.
Ann: Trish was excited, as the group had enjoyed a wonderful time of fun and connection listening to one another’s colourful stories. I, on the other hand, had been in a particularly troubled and confusing season and desperately needed clarity. I had come from an appointment where an unusual sequence of events unfolded centred around tasting tea. I was reeling with surprise and exclaimed, ”I also have a Teacup story to share from today.”
So, there in the Soroptimist Park looking out over the sparkling waters of the Great Barrier Reef, Teacup Stories started to take shape. We decided it would be great to gather a series of true, short stories that testified to God hearing us when we pray. Stories highlighting how God knows the desires of our hearts.
It's been a long journey since that first meeting in the park in 2013. There definitely have been a few stops and starts along the way. Here we are, however, on track again, pressing on so that our readers will have access to our collection of miraculous stories. Extraordinary encounters of ordinary people who reached out to God in prayer.
