Isaac's Story
This story is about our youngest son. He was about three at the time. He was always active, walking, running and climbing. We were visiting friends one night who had a high set house similar to ours. The steps, however, on their house were located in a different position to ours. Our son went out the front door and instead of walking along the house to their steps, he climbed over the railing......exactly where our steps were located ….. and over he went!
It was a good 3 meter drop.
Di looked as he was falling over. She was calling out to him. She saw him falling and then he stopped. Di said, “Even though it was so quick. I couldn’t work out in my mind why I thought he had stopped. I ran along the verandah and down the stairs and found him laid out neatly on the second bottom rung of the steps. He was fine. Not a scratch, not a bruise, not a cry…nothing.”
I had been inside when I heard Di call out and I knew what had happened. I held my breath and was listening for the thud. But I heard nothing. I knew that a fall from anything over 2 meters was known as the fatal zone.
When Di reached our son his first response was “Did you see Jesus’ muscly arm catch me and put me down?” She said, “No we didn’t. Lucky you Isaac!”
